Our history and lineage
Kummooyeh is the traditional Korean art of the sword, blending dynamic sword techniques, forms, sparring, cutting, meditation, and archery into a complete martial arts system. More than just learning to wield a sword, students develop discipline, focus, respect, and character while connecting with centuries of Korean warrior tradition.
As a school dedicated to providing the highest quality martial arts instruction in New York's Capital Region, we have had the privilege of training directly under the headquarters of the World Kummooyeh Federation in South Korea. As Kummooyeh continued to expand internationally, the Federation established the USA Kummooyeh Federation to bring authentic instruction, standards, and leadership to practitioners throughout the United States. Through our continued training and close relationship with the World Federation, we were honored when the founder, together with the Board of Directors, appointed our school as the official USA Headquarters of Kummooyeh. This distinction reflects our commitment to preserving the art's traditions while promoting its growth and development across the country.
